The new guardian followed his guide to his chambers. It became quickly apparent he was not truly welcome, but they were forced to honor his skill and defeat of the previous guardian his predecessor. Nero had been a skilled man, but he had to end his life. Caius knew Yeul already resented him for it. Her cold exterior toward him told him so, though she had no reason to be warm. There was no reason the small queen would not be.
Upon entering, he was given proper clothes to wear, but they did not fit him properly. They were forced to fit them better to him, and he cooperated. He didn't quite care for the garb but since it was an important ceremony, he cooperated with them for the time being. Once he knew how everything fell into place, then he would decide his own rules, but only if the Seeress truly accepted him over all. He did notice their lack of conversation, but he did not care. His concern was with Yeul and no one else.
Caius followed his guide out of the room, and all the way to where Yeul waited, but on the walk there. There was no need to respond to the man, he really did not care what he said one way or another. They could be rude, but it did not change he bested Nero and was to be the new guardian should the Queen accept him. Tatius lead him to a large door, and opened it. He stepped within after the man. The room was silent as Yeul turned around to face them, and waved the men an women away.
Everyone was gone, and the door closed behind them. She did have a nice room, at least, though how they treated her was curious. She seemed more akin to a prisoner than a true ruler. A Queen was to rule. Caius waited patiently, until she motioned to him, and he complied without hesitation. He stepped forward, walking toward her until he stood beside her as she commanded.
From such a place, he could see the entirety of Paddra, it was astonishing. A gorgeous view, but he didn't allow himself to get distracted from the Seeress. Caius was stoic, his face straight, and unreadable, the same as hers. He was stern, and waited patiently by her side.
