With patience, Caius waited beside her, his eyes staring down to the onlooking crowd below. They silenced whilst her arms raised up, it was a memorable sight, the power and respect Yeul commanded amongst the populace. He did not care whether or not she asked his name, she already knew it enough; there was no need to ask. At the same time, the small queen seemed strictly barred from doing as she pleased by those around her, influenced by their words. In the small time he had seen them interact with her, he had noticed it, and it was disgusting.
Yeul acknowledgeded him as the victor over Nero, and her new guardian. They were to perform the Rite of Etro, as he heard. All too soon, Yeul passed over the crowd to him. He noticed the tap on the stone ledge. Caius complied without any hesitation, and did not question what she wanted of him. It was obvious enough, even without her telling him to do so. They wanted to hear of his victory. His hands rested on the large, and he stared down at the crowd with an unreadable face.
"My predecessor fought admirably. He did not back down, did not falter before my blade; he fought honorably and fairly as is the way of the Guardian. My preseverence, and my skill exceeded his own, and he fell to my prowess, yet not without challenge. He will be remembered, and honored in my memory as I claim his place as Guardian. I vow to protect the Queen Seeress, as the new Guardian, and am honored to receive the title." Caius momentarily paused, but did not falter or avert his gaze. He stood proudly before the crowd, and at Yeul's side.
"Years ago, as my life as a hunter went on, I was given a message. Etro spoke to me, and gave me a purpose. I was given a reason to find the Guardian; to find, and succeed the Guardian. I am here as a result of the message, and task given to me by the Goddess Etro." Caius extended a hand out to the crowd, continuing, "I met the Guardian, and it was then I decided I would succeed him, and take his place as Guardian of the Seeress, and Queen of Paddra."
Caius lowered his hand again.
"I have completed this task proudly, and I will use all of my power to protect Paddra Nsu-Yeul, Jewel of the Farseers."
